Quality defines the experience.

We know that the quality of the things with which one interacts defines the experience.  From the weight of the towels, smoothness of the sheets, and textured cotton under your bare feet when you step out of your bed, every sensation impacts the experience you have during your stay at Old Story Farm Bed & Breakfast.  So we pay attention.  We  sun dry your sheets whenever possible and iron pillowcases so that when you lay your head to sleep you experience fresh air and smooth cotton.  We have kept the old floors and purposely covered them sparingly with woven cotton rugs, so that - hoping you walk about in bare feet - you feel the smooth paint on the warped old boards inter-spaced with soft cotton.  We provide pine scented, NH made, goat's milk soap that brings inside the smell of the large  white pines that grace  the grounds like a lakeside camp.

We also choose to provide specially chosen blankets, quilts, coverlets and duvet covers - and wash them  - rather than triple sheet.   We believe that triple sheeting, though cleaner than an unwashed bedspread, is still a cost saving measure for hotels and inns, not a quality enhancer.  We believe in providing real and beautiful quilts, wool or cotton blankets, coverlets or duvet covers, and pillow shams.  We feel that the texture, color and smell of clean, home-style  bedding  complements your sleeping experience better than sheets.
